Why VOlunteer?
Volunteering with our fire department is more than just answering the call — it’s about service, training, and teamwork. Whether you’re looking to gain new skills or give back, we have a place for you.
-

-
Offers invaluable hands-on experience in emergency response, firefighting techniques, and rescue operations. You’ll learn to operate firefighting equipment, perform search and rescue, provide basic medical aid, and work seamlessly as part of a team under pressure. This real-world training builds confidence, sharpens problem-solving skills, and deepens your understanding of fire safety—all while making a meaningful impact in your community.
-
It’s more than just responding to emergencies—it’s about building strong bonds rooted in trust, shared purpose, and mutual support. The camaraderie developed during training sessions, challenging calls, and community events creates a unique sense of family. Teamwork isn’t just a necessity; it’s the heartbeat of every successful mission, where every member relies on each other’s skills and dedication. This spirit of unity fosters resilience and pride, making the experience not only rewarding but life-changing.
-
Offers the chance to protect lives and property while working alongside dedicated neighbors. Beyond fighting fires, volunteer firefighters provide emergency medical care, respond to accidents, and support disaster relief efforts. This role builds teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills, all while fostering strong community connections. Serving as a volunteer firefighter is more than a commitment—it’s a way to make a lasting impact where it counts most.

Training: Training is held every Wednesday (except for the 1st Wednesday of the month). Training begins between 6-7pm and typically ends around 8:30-9pm. Monthly department meetings are held the 1st Wednesday of the month at 7pm. Attendance at 80% of each is required.
You are encouraged to come down to the station and spend time with the members. This allows you to get to know your fellow firefighters and for them to get to know you. You are also encouraged to participate in as many training drills and calls as possible.
-
Training is divided into several areas namely, Basic firefighting skills and equipment, mandatory Fire/EMS training and Firefighter levels I and II which are available both in-house and through the State.
All members are required to complete classes in BLS CPR/First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, and HazMat Awareness. BLS CPR/First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogens are available from in-house instructors. HazMat Awareness training is coordinated by the Department.
